Faith Promise Missions

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

-We at Faith Baptist Church believe in, and support Faith Promise Missions. What this entails is each member prays and asks the Lord what He would have them to give towards the Faith Promise Missions program. These moneys are not generated from the tithes and offerings of the Local New Testament Church, but instead are separate offerings that one gives for their responsibility to Missions. Christ's command was that we are to be witnesses everywhere in this world. If you are not going, then you should be supporting. In II Peter 1:5-7, Peter instructs the church to add to their faith seven things. When one adds these things to their faith, and practices them, they shall never fall/stumble(II Peter 1:10) in their Christian walk. The last thing he instructs the church to add to their faith in verse 7 is charity, also known as “Agape” in the Greek. The greatest love/charity, selfless love, man has seen was Christ offering His life that we may have everlasting life. Just as He sacrificed a lot for our souls, we ought to show that same love in sacrificing for the souls of men wherever they may be. This is the definition of Faith Promise Missions; if we see souls as the Lord sees them then giving to missions will not be a problem.
